I spent the day at a sewing workshop, trying to improve my sheath dress. The pattern that I’m using is Vogue 8507.

Right off the bat, I develop a faster way to sew while keeping the lining from sliding around. “Oh, this IS faster. S***T!” A voice from behind me, “Did you break the needle?” “Yes. In my finger.”

One tetanus shot and a new needle later, things went quite smoothly. Two big reasons were perfectly color matched fabric and lining and THE OLISO PRO ITOUCH IRON. This thing is truly amazing. I had no idea an iron could make that much of a difference, but this thing made ironing a breeze!

I also had access to a serger! And, plenty of table space to lay fabric for cutting and pinning. So nice! The dress is very nearly finished so pics will be posted tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ll be accepting donations towards my very own Oliso iron…
