My husband returned from his trip to the Middle East with gifts of fabric and saffron. One of the fabrics is a lightweight, silky blue with a gorgeous pattern. Hints of shimmery gold. Being in possession of a borrowed serger(!!!!!), I immediately wanted to follow this blog post to make a dress. Hahaha… let’s all get that out of our system right now. Attempt #1 resulted in me screaming in terror, trapped with my arms above my head. The fabric has no elasticity and would not go past my shoulder blades. Once my husband rescued me, this is what it looked like: Ugh. Not the most flattering silhouette on me. Armed with the knowledge that this fabric has ZERO stretch and a favorite shirt, I traced the shirt on some extra fabric and ended up with my first ever shirt! I love it! And, it fits. And, it goes over my head without extreme struggle. Thank goodness for getting a full 4 meters of fabric.
