Hello from New York City!!

Yesterday, with a budget of would-I-rather-eat-dinner-or-buy-fabric and a time limit of 30 minutes, I raced into Mood. My watch did go off at the 30 minute mark so I could marvel at the speed of the Project Runway contestants… and then I resumed browsing for another hour or so. The store is enormous!

I started on the top floor and went through every aisle. Gah! So many beautiful fabrics! How I wished I could sew wool or neoprene or silk! Maybe one day, I’ll figure those out. On the middle floor, the fabrics felt almost familiar. Still a bit too slippery or stretchy for me to be comfortable. And on the lowest level, next to the amazing selection of furs and leathers, were the new Liberty of London fabrics! Cotton! I know how to sew that!

Both of the pieces that I chose were panel prints. A gorgeous green and black polyester jersey that is much more beautiful than the images on the website and a mauve cotten blend that I cannot find anywhere on their website. I can’t wait to get home and start sewing!!
