Evidently May of 2020 was the last time I used my sewing machines. The pandemic seems surreal now, but it was incredibly challenging then. We had to move in with family to work remotely while also caring for a toddler. And now my second kid is wearing that pink crab shirt made in the very last post.
Last week, I began pulling out my machines and dusting off old projects.
I found a knitting project in size 12m that will have to be a gift now. Or clothes for a doll. Details to come! The plan is to finish it before digging out more projects. Honestly, the hope is to work through all my projects before starting something new. I should catalog how many there are!
For sewing, I have a purple woven top that I’d like to complete. I picked up a new spool of thread to wind a bobbin, and then discovered my machine is jammed from sitting for 3 years. Which leads me to believe the lubricants hardened somewhere. I watched this video and am prepared to disassemble and clean during quiet time tomorrow. I know I had to clean the bobbin assembly when I first got the machine so this feels familiar. I also found the local repair shop for Monday, if needed.
