When sharing some sewing photos on Instagram recently, I found inspiration!
#lindensweatshirthack shows a lot of fun ways to adapt my favorite shirt pattern. The adaptation by @florencesews with a wide waist hem and long arm cuffs is great. After finding a tutorial on thumbholes for long cuffs from Melly Sews, I set out to make it. Stay posted for that adventure.
Recently, @florencesews posted a bolero that looks just my style. The Bianca bolero from Sinclair Patterns. There’s a purchased black and grey piece in my closet right now that looks just like this. I’ve worn it for years and love it. Now to find a good fabric for the pattern!
My mini me has worn the pink crab pants all spring. We also did matching shirts day! Next up, a pair of solid pink pants for her. Or maybe shorts! There’s a tutorial for hems here that I want to try soon.
As a side note, I did a little research on making money off blogs recently. Ads seem easiest to add to a website. But the user experience with ads is terrible. One of my favorite account on Instagram is @yummytoddlerfood and we make her pancake recipes regularly. But it’s so difficult to pull up on your phone or ipad with all the ads. So this blog will remain ad-free for now.
